Privacy Policy

1. Scope and developer

This Privacy Policy applies to the iOS app Laneory (Chinese name: 泳迹), referred to as “Laneory,” “the App,” “we,” or “us.” Laneory is developed and operated by independent developer Yuehang Hong.

2. Data we process

2.1 Apple Health and swim data

With your explicit permission, Laneory may read health and fitness data needed for the features you use, such as swimming workouts, duration, distance, active energy, and heart rate. The exact data types are shown in Apple’s permission interface and depend on the features you enable.

• Purpose: to display swim records, metrics, and trends inside the App.
• Storage: processed and stored on your device; not uploaded to a developer-operated server.
• Restrictions: never sent to Umeng and never used for advertising, data brokerage, profiling, or sale.

2.2 Data you create in the App

Swim entries, goals, preferences, filters, and statistics created from your data are stored in Laneory’s local app sandbox. We cannot remotely view or recover this data.

2.3 Analytics and diagnostics

Laneory uses Umeng mobile analytics and stability services to understand feature usage, diagnose crashes, and improve performance. Depending on the SDK version, device, and configuration, Umeng may process:

We do not send your name, email address, HealthKit data, detailed swim records, or payment details to Umeng, and we do not use Umeng data for cross-app advertising tracking. Umeng’s processing is also governed by its privacy policy.

2.4 Purchases and subscriptions

Subscriptions and in-app purchases are processed by Apple through StoreKit. Apple handles payment and billing information. Laneory receives only product, transaction, and subscription-status information needed to verify your entitlement; we do not receive your card details or full payment information.

2.5 Information you provide to support

If you contact us, we receive the email address, message, and attachments you choose to provide. We use them only to respond, troubleshoot, and conduct necessary follow-up. Please do not include unrelated sensitive health information.

3. Permissions, consent, and controls

• Health permissions: View, change, or revoke Laneory’s access in iOS Settings or the Apple Health app. Refusing permission does not affect unrelated features, but the corresponding record or analysis may be unavailable.
• Anonymous usage analytics: Where prior consent is required, Laneory enables Umeng analytics only after you make a choice. You can turn analytics off at any time under “Settings — Privacy — Help Improve Laneory” without losing swim-recording features or purchased entitlements.
• Other permissions: If a future feature needs another system permission, we will explain its purpose before the system prompt appears. You may refuse or later revoke it in system settings.

4. Sharing, sale, and tracking

We do not sell personal data, use HealthKit data for advertising, or track you across apps and websites owned by other companies.

Limited information is processed only by the services needed to provide the functions described above:

• Umeng: limited device, usage, network, and diagnostic data for analytics and stability.
• Apple: HealthKit permissions and on-device health storage, plus App Store purchases, subscriptions, and refunds.

We may respond to a valid legal request to the extent required by law. Because core data remains on your device, we generally do not possess that local data.

5. Retention and deletion

• Local swim and preference data remains until you clear it in the App or uninstall Laneory. Device backups may be managed separately through your Apple backup settings.
• You control Apple Health data and permissions in the Apple Health app. Uninstalling Laneory may not delete data previously written to Apple Health.
• Umeng analytics and diagnostics are retained for the period reasonably needed for analytics, security, and troubleshooting, subject to our service configuration and Umeng’s policy.
• Support emails are normally kept until the issue and reasonable follow-up are complete, and may be kept longer where necessary for legal, security, or dispute purposes.

6. Security

Laneory relies on the iOS app sandbox, system permissions, and HealthKit security to isolate local data. Communications with Umeng use encrypted network connections. No device or network environment can be guaranteed completely secure, so please protect your device passcode and Apple Account.

7. Children

Laneory is not specifically directed to children. Anyone below the age at which they can independently consent in their region should use the App with a parent or legal guardian, who should decide whether to authorize health data. Contact us if you believe a child provided information without appropriate consent.

8. International processing

When you use Laneory in different countries or regions, Umeng or Apple may process limited service data outside your location according to their service arrangements. We take reasonable measures where required by applicable law and do not transmit HealthKit or detailed swim data to analytics services.

9. Your choices and rights

You can use system permissions and in-app controls to access, correct, or delete local data, revoke health access, and stop anonymous usage analytics. For information created through support email, or to exercise other rights under applicable law, contact us. We may need to verify that a request relates to you, but will not request unrelated sensitive information.

10. Changes to this Policy

We will update this Policy and the date above when our features or data practices change. If a change materially affects your rights or expands our processing, we will provide an appropriate in-app or other notice and seek renewed consent where required.
